The Diagnostic Laboratory is fully equipped with sophisticated equipment to lend support in investigations in the fields of clinical pathology, biochemistry, bacteriology and histopathology.

The Radiology Department has three X-ray machines of screening capacity 700MA, 300 MA and 200 MA. All contrast investigations are being done. Chest x-rays, barium meal screening, intra-venous procedures, neuro-radiological investigations, angiograms, and myelograms are among the many investigations undertaken.

Endoscopy procedures and Ultrasound investigations are carried out.

The Department of Physiotherapy offers traction facilities, short-wave diathermy, ultrasonic treatment, interferential therapy, wax therapy, etcetera.

Trained nutritionists provide diets from a specially equipped kitchen to cater to the needs of patients.

The Rotary Central-TTK-VHS Blood Bank is one of the best in Chennai. It is licensed by the Drug Controller and all blood samples are screened for HIV, Hepatitis and VDRL. With its modern, sophisticated equipment, it follows stringent quality measures in blood donor selection, collection of blood, processing of blood, and blood group serology. VHS has so far conducted around 2000 voluntary blood donation camps and continues to regularly do so in and around the city. It has made a name for itself as a source of quality and safe blood not only for its own patients, but also for many hospitals in Chennai. A Haemophilia Care Centre, established jointly with the Haemophilia Society - Madras Chapter, is housed at VHS. As part of its programme, comprehensive care is provided to haemophiliacs, and free blood components are given to deserving patients.
