Department of Neurology
 The department of
Neurology has been functioning since 1965 and has over the years
grown into one of national importance with international
connections. It is an integrated set up including senior
consultants, medical officers, clinical psychologists,
physiotherapists, epilepsy counsellors, psychiatric social workers,
special educators for the mentally backward, and dieticians.
Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Dementia and Cognition, and Stroke
form the focus of the department’s work. Out-patient services are
encouraged and only emergency cases are admitted. Research in
clinical neurology is one of the prime activities of the department.
Workshops and symposiums with visiting professors, both Indian and
international, are regularly organised under the auspices of the
department.
