The College of Medical Technology at VHS offers one-year Post-graduate diplomas in 3 disciplines to non-medical graduates.

The diploma course in Medical Laboratory Technology (18 seats) covers specialised subjects such as Clinical Pathology, Bacteriology, Haemotology, Histopathology, and Biochemistry.

Home Science graduates (10) are admitted into the Nutrition and Hospital Dietetics course, which includes Applied Nutrition, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hospital Dietetics, and Institution Management.

Personnel, Material and Financial management of hospitals as well as Health Administration are taught to the students (8) of the diploma course in Health and Hospital Administration.
 

3rd year BDS students are deputed to VHS for clinical training in General Surgery and General Medicine. VHS is also recognised by the MGR Medical University for conducting the examination for these students.

VHS has also established itself as a premier training institution, and outside organisations and hospitals depute their undergraduate and post-graduate candidates for practical training and internship in areas such as Physiotherapy, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Microbiology, Haematology, Laboratory Technology, and Hospital Administration. Students of Catering Technology and Hotel Management do their internship in the Nutrition & Dietary Department, Ayurveda Medical students in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT, Eye and General Surgery, and Pharmacy students in the VHS Medical Stores.

The Blood Bank has also been imparting teaching and practical training in blood banking for the students of the course on Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) of VHS, as well as technicians of other blood banks in Tamil Nadu. In addition, the Blood Bank medical officers are the faculty members of the MSMLT programmes of BITS, Pilani, stationed at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
 

The M.A. Chidambaram Education Foundation runs institutions at the VHS. Under its auspices, the VHS - MAC College of Nursing conducts a 4½-year B.Sc. degree course in Nursing, and a 2-year M.Sc. post-graduate course with two specialities - Medical - Surgical Nursing and Maternity Nursing.

The School of Nursing under the VHS - MAC Institute of Community Health runs a 3-year diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery, and a one-year Nursing Assistant programme.
