The VHS-YRG Care Medical Centre, set up in VHS with the support of the Y.R.
Gaitonde Centre for AIDS Research and Education, has a 24-bed ward and a day
care centre that treats AIDS patients. Other than Government Hospitals, VHS is
the one of the very few private hospitals to take care of HIV / AIDS patients.
To offer the patients added services, the VHS-YRG Care Infectious Diseases
Laboratory focuses on newer diagnostic methods and research on HIV / AIDS and
other opportunistic infections.

A sero-surveillance study on the
prevalence of HIV 1 and HIV 2 in Tamil Nadu
Seroprevalence / risk factor
analysis of HIV in partners of patients with HIV in Chennai
A randomised controlled clinical trial of
structured intermittent therapy (SIT) vs continuous therapy in HIV positive
patients in South India
