The Vimta-VHS Research Centre is the first regional laboratory of the Hyderabad-based Vimta Labs Ltd., one of the leaders in the field of contract research and testing. Vimta has been determining quality for over 19 years and its services are sought by many market leaders in India and abroad. Vimta practices the international quality standards of ISO 17025, GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and GCP (Good Clinical Practices) in its operations.

The Vimta-VHS Research Centre started operations in July 2003 and covers high growth areas such as bio-equivalence studies and clinical reference laboratory services. The following services are offered:

Clinical Research / Bio-equivalence Studies: A 26-bed Clinical Pharmacology Unit, with associated Clinical Laboratory, provides services for the growing generic drugs market in conducting bio-equivalence studies.

Clinical Reference Laboratory Services: To meet the demands of speciality tests in biochemistry, haematology, immunology, histopathology, microbiology, and radio-immunoassay, the research centre also offers a range of speciality diagnostics, such as infectious diseases, cardiac markers, oncology, tumour markers, fertility hormones, and neonatal screening, in addition to routine lab services. The clinical laboratory services cater to VHS patients and also other patients in Tamil Nadu, in addition to assisting the in-house requirements of bio-equivalence study samples.
